Winchester HP Ammo
Saw a new box of .22 ammo at Walmart this morning: Winchester 36gr, 1280fps, HP in a 333 round box. Gave it a try in the MKII GC at 25 yards. Seemed to do fairly well considering all the disadvantages I gave it: me shooting, unsupported, after shooting various handguns for 3 hours. (How many more excuses do I need?).

I probably would not have noticed, except that I just bought a boxgreener wrote:Yours say "Winchester" sort of like the box in the picture.
Edited. Thanks for catching my faux pas.
about 8pm last evening... and I knew I'd NOT buy any 'REM',
after my "experience" with the "Thunder Bolt Lead Lining Treatment".
I hope they "shoot good" !! -- toy
I got curious if the "333" was a Re-packaged of existing Win ammo.
I didn't see the "333" on WinchesterAmmo.com
I paid about $10/333 at WMT.
It "could-be" that the '333' is released to compete with "Fed 525round" pack,
as the "specs/price" are very close.
I went to MidWayUSA (just a price/feature lookup) and made note of this:

I've had really good results with the Fed AutoMatch (AM22) ammo in my rifles and Ruger Mark series pistols. Federal did have a run of bad AM22 back a few months ago but recent batches I've purchased have been good. Have not been able to find the Win 333 in my area but lots of shooters on RFC have posted good results with it...

I may give a box of 333's a try just to see how it does. I'm a little shy when it comes to Winchester. I used to love Win T-22, but back in the mid-nineties they changed their priming system and I started getting 4-5 duds per box of 50 rounds. After a couple of bricks of that, I swore off T-22. Every once in a while I try it again but I still end up with too many duds. I did like the Dynapoints for practice but they got hard to come by. I tried the Powerpoints but they are not very good in my book.

I think that the Win 333 is just Super X 36gr HP's in a bulk pack. This stuff shoots really good out of my MKIII and some of my other .22 handguns.
I've always thought that Winchester Super X was as good as CCI and a might cheaper in price too. I'm real excited to see this ammo in a bulk pack. Bottom line though, its whatever your individual gun will like, not so much what you like. The gun calls the shots-pun intended.
