I young enough that I can't see old-guy-age land as long as I leave the bifocals off.bearandoldman wrote:That is most likely due to the fact that you are approaching that old guy age yourself.greener wrote:I resemble those remarks.
I may have to retrieve the Mossberg, since it is now fixed and shoots well.

I don't think it is totally extinguished, I see some sparks in there.bearandoldman wrote:Easy for you as you are double distinguished and I am just old and extinguished.Bullseye wrote:Come on! guys! These are easy to use, just point-and-click!![]()

If it were the shooter, they wouldn't make all the high-dollar firearms, expensive upgrades and have all those master gunsmith's tuning the gun. That's my story and it sure beats figuring out how to point and click.
I agree Bud, that rifle shoots pretty darn well for a nearly half century closet queen! You should give that one the nickname, "Rip Van Winkle." It's a classic rifle, looks good, and shoots well, that's a gunner's trifecta in my book.
What brand of ammo did you use for your tests.
I'd be proud to uncase that one at the range and chew up some target centers with it.

36 gr Copper clad Hollow Point.
Next week we move out to 50 and maybe 100 yds, provided these old eyes can see the target at that range

Bud
Beware the man who only has one gun.
HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!

Since you guys liked my peg boards so much here's a couple more shots of the other side of my garage

Bud 33 I am not surprised at all with your M44's results, nor am I surprised it shoots the cheep stuff well, all mine do the same. Take Bullseye's advice and buy the front peeps for it from Vic Havlin (see bottom rifle's front sight). They helped me see better but if your rifle is drilled and tapped outfit it with a scope and you'll be shooting bullet hole inside the bullet hole.
I've posted this target before...the 44USd (middle rifle) with a scope. These rifles are true shooters by all sense of the word.

I shot the Mossberg 144 I "gave" my son this week. The rifle did a fine job at 50 yards with Xpert22's. It didn't like Federal Automatch. It is a very nice rifle to have in your collection. I could find only two downsides. First, I bought it for $30 at a Boy Scout Camp Auction and didn't take advantage of buying more at the same price. Second, my son won't give it back and had the audacity to check out the car when I left.
