VQ Sear WOW

I got a VQ sear for Christmas and finally decided to install it. I have 4 Ruger MK pistols decided on the MKII competition target.
Took the Lyman trigger pull gauge and did 3 pulls and hit average it was
3 lb 1.4 oz.

Disassembled and cleaned all parts install sear and reassemble, dry fire and I think this feels really light. So I grab the trigger pull gauge and do 3 pulls and hit the average button and 1 lb 12.3 oz.

I took it to the range this afternoon and it is really nice and functions perfect.

Now the down side, I need 3 more VQ sears and my VQ triggers should ship tomorrow so i will be able to get rid of the pre travel.

They do sort of spoil you. You can adjust the trigger on "target" models, but you have to pretty much detail strip the pistol to get to the trigger. By then, it's easier to drop in a VQ or Clark trigger.

The new VQ target triggers are externally adjustable but remember to use some blue (#242) Loctite on the set screws or they may reposition themselves under the stresses of recoil.

It's amazing what one little change can accomplish.

Good for you recumbent! I'm a big fan of the VQ sear and trigger for the Mark pistols as well. Amazing what these parts do for the trigger pull. I just got the Clark over-sized hammer bushing and pin set for my Mk II Comp Target and Mk III 22/45. From what I can read, these parts coupled with the VQ sear and trigger just put the icing on the cake...

I'll find out when my other VG sears and triggers come in. I have a MKII hammer and the clark pin and bushings in my MKIII Hunter so all I have to add is the sear and trigger.

Definately worth the upgrade! I've installed them on all of my Rugers. I know you will feel the difference with the sear/trigger upgrades!

Is the Mk II hammer in your Hunter a stock hammer or VQ? I have neen loking for a MK II stcok hammer and can't find a source...

Stock MKII hammer.
They are very hard to find. It's a controlled part now by ruger, Brownells can't even get them.
But you don't really need one for the MKIII a MKII hammer bushing works fine on a MKIII hammer if all you want to do is remove the mag safety.

Removed the mag safety on my Mk III and installed a Mk II hammer bushing when I added that VQ sear and trigger. Thought maybe a Mk II hammer with my neww Clark oversize bushing and pin might reduce the "Slop" in the trigger even more...

I'm wondering whether you have tried the fit between the Mark III hammer and the Clark oversize bushing. I have the Clark bushings on all my guns, and on some Mark III hammers they fit fairly tight, so much that they should not wobble due to the Mark III cutout on the starboard side of the hammer. If you are really concerned about the slop, get a VQ hammer, but that will require fitting to the bushing. I used 800 grit lapping compound and a lot of elbow grease.

Thought about a Mk II VQ hammer but no one seems to have them in stock right now. I read your post about the Clark bushing and VQ hammer fit - Good info. I still haven't installed my Clark kit in my Mk II or Mk III. Got sidetracked by my new S&W M41.

BTW, there is very little "slop" in my trigger as it is now and I have become very spoiled over the years with really nice triggers - Just like them to be the they can be. I'm getting too old for crappy or average triggers.
