Volquartsen Rear Sight

Post by cadillo » Thu Apr 17, 2008 8:57 pm

I'm preparing to upgrade my new Mark III Competition Target. So far I have rceived a the Volquartsen trigger, sear, and rear sight. and I expect the Mark II stainless hammer bushing to arrive any day now. I will change out everything at once, but in looking at the Volquartsen rear sight, I'm a bit stymied.

Looking at the underside, ther are two set screws that appear to be used to lock the sight to the receiver, but I cannot see the heads of the screws, nor how to access them. Curiously, the sight came with absolutely no instructions or information of any kind.

Before I dismantle the sight in an effort to find the screw heads, I'm hoping that someone here has some experience with this sight and can lend some guidance.

Any input appreciated!

THX!

If I recall the set screws are under the sight leaf. Carefully remove the elevation screw holding the leaf down during. Let the leaf up and carefully note the small springs underneath for position. Don't lose them. It's not that hard to do. I had to file on the sight dovetail to get it started for a careful drive home. Extra hands or good holding devices are needed.

Thanks Hardball!

I'll give that a try.
