I just got several new magazines for my 22/45. I had several feed problems in the first match I shot with the new mags mixed in, although there were other factors that might have led to that.
Is there any preparation that ought to be performed on new ruger factory mags?

IF there is a rough-edge, you could smooth out the "lips".
Lube the spring and run the follower Up/Down/Up/Down/Up/Down.
closely compare each Mag to existing ones that feed-well.
Number them, to make notes which are producing which problems.
I'm not aware of any Pre-Condition to-do list...
Good advice from Toy on magazines. Run them up and down several times to break in the follower tracks. If they have any preservative on them, give them a good cleaning.
When I shoot matches, I only use magazines known to be top performers. I mark and number my mags so I can use the most reliable when needed in competition. They earn their status through practice. I don't give away points by using an unknown in a match. Don't assume that new equals top performance - sometimes there's a break-in period for new equipment.
