Anyone who would like to be warm during retirement should look into the area that I just moved away from last year, the Lower Rio Grande Valley area at the southern tip of Texas. ( Brownsville, Harlingen, McAllen )This could be one of those years with 9 months of winter and 3 months of bad sledding.
There, you get nine months of summer, interrupted by three months of fall, every year.
The summer heat is moderated by an almost constant 15 mph breeze from the Gulf of Mexico.
The ham population there is diverse, with hams from as far north as Canada. This is the friendliest, least expensive warm retirement spot in the US.
Just sayin'...
