I'm wondering what else they'll have new for Christmas?

MSRP is actually $2195. The SR-556 is just under 2k, and I assume Ruger is selling enough of those. I can't fathom how much the AR devotees can sink into one by time they're done "modding" everything. I always thought the Ruger Minis made more sense in the military style rifles.

You can buy a really nice M1A for that much.

So true. With just a VQ kit, bushing, and LCI plug I have about $700 in my Mark III. Throw in extra mags, holsters, and spare parts and it nearly doubles. I don't count the tools it has required, like the Deluxe Mark Pistol Takedown Tool (rubber/plastic faced mallet)...........
