She's trying to make it as heinous as she can to gain some negotiating room. If she can get any of it through she'll be satisfied.

it is crossing my mind, these days, whether I'll be shooting in the service rifle
league this coming summer? Also, looking for 10 round ar mags is futile, everything
is out of stock.

I have a 20 that is blocked for 5 rounds only. Don't know how they did it yet.

Some of the ones I've encountered have had a "U" shaped metal bracket installed inside the magazine housing. This bracket prevents the follower from descending into the mag body beyond the designed capacity level but allows for the follower return spring to operate normally.

I add that the blocked mag also has a pop rivet in the "openhere" hole on the bottom.

Can 20 round mags be converted to 10 rounders?

haka, yes they can Magpul makes an insert to limit round capacity for their pmags. I'm sure there are others out there.

I don't know why anyone would jump through hoops for the "laws" on NY at this point.

Go ahead, spend a couple hundred bucks buying 7x mags, next time it will be a 5x limit, then 2, then 1, then ZERO.

Ignore it, or repeal it.

I wondered if you had some of the post=ban mags. The pop rivet and slit cut in the body is to prevent anyone from attempting to remove the limiter bracket.

You can add a bracket to the mag to limit it to 10 round capacity but they also have to be constructed in a way as to prevent anyone from removing the spacer later, like a pop rivet or a sealed bottom floorplate. The thing is preban mags were grandfathered in CA, at least they were before I left the state. I don't even want to attempt to decipher what NY is attempting to do with their new Laws.

I was just grazing on the gun broker site and noticed the prices folks are charging for 30 rd mags. Hmmm? I got 3 new Brownell 30rdr's and 1 jagan Magpul 30 rdr. I don't use them, just some 20's, it may be a good time to try to sell them.

Timing is everything. Anyone who bought some AR mags a few months ago is probably feeling very fortunate right about now.
