Pawnshop .22 Adapter

Yoou can buy a whole gun for damn near that price if you buy the Smith 15-22. Around 450 if I remember corrrectcly.

Your probably right OM. Although a concern of mine would be to have a rifle that mimicked my NM rifle as close as possible. The one BE suggested seems very attractive:

Don't know that it had been hijacked. basic topic was converting ar's to .22lr. This seemed to go right along

To those of you in the know, instead of getting a complete upper, this looks quite interesting. This idea was what OM suggested. What do you think? What are it's pros and cons?

I believe umarex makes colt's 22 stuff (maybe smith and wesson's too!)

the advantage for your purposes, haka, (of a dedicated upper, or comversion bolt ) is your 22 trainer would have the exact trigger pull and grip as your match rifle.

I have one of the original Colt 22 conversion units in my personal collection. I used it frequently when I lived in California but not so much anymore. The big difference is the magazines. Each manufacturer makes them so they generally only work with their conversion units. Since I only acquired one magazine with the unit I found my practice sessions more beneficial as dry-firing with actual high power equipment rather that fumbling with the conversion magazine out at the range. I keep it more as a collector's piece since it was one of the original units offered.
