I was really forced into this
Recently my shooting bud mentioned he needed a backup for Bullseye for his Smith 41. He shot one of my Mark II 22'45's with the 5-1/2 inch barrel. Why I have 2 I do not really know, so decided to save him the work of modifying a MarkIIIRP by selling him my extra gun. This gun has already had the sear and extractor and Techteach grips and the slingshot mod so all he had to do was ad his red dot and he was ready to go. Gun money must be recycled as soon as possible so, I had notice another Ruger distributor exclusive for Talo. They sure have Ruger make them some nice guns, got the International from them, and now this beauty.

You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

new 10/22 first impressions
The first thoughts that came to mind were
1. Wow! that is a beautiful rifle
2. Where is the trigger?
3. Then I did a dope-slap and saw the vise was clamped there.. duh!
You made a really good choice BAOM. I am sure you will enjoy that for a looong time.

The vise with the padded jaw inserts is one of the most intelligent things that I have ever added to my shop. It can be used for many purposes and as far as working on guns, I do not know how I ever got along without it.Coach1 wrote:The first thoughts that came to mind were

Called all of my 3 LGS looking for one, my regular LGS could not get one but an old friend who used to work for this shop run by his uncle and cousin now has his own place about 18 or so miles North said he would feed me one. Well he found his distributor had 3 left so he bought them all and I got to pick and choose, this one was the first box opened and the best looking of the 3.

I have always like rifle mounted scope as some of my Texan friends use also. Besides that I am too lazy to get the spotting scope out of the car. Love to watch the holes a;;ear in the target, guess all my years and K's of rounds shooting sporting clays spoiled me, I got to see something happen when I shoot or it is not any fun. Not a really big scope, only a 4-16x40AO.KAZ wrote:I love the way you mounted a rifle on that scopeJust kidding! It looks like a stock that feels right when you shoulder it. Regards

I could see a lot of arm twisting when on for this to happen
Hope your arm is not hurting to bad
Nice looking gun even if its backwards for you. No need to buy a spotting scope it the gun scope is good enough.

Good looking rifle there. As usual, us "lefty" shooters prove more adaptable than others.
I've often bought pre-owned guns (usually due to budget) and especially enjoy bringing back an abused one to the best level possible. The last being the Rem. 581 with a left hand bolt.
My only other left hand bolt it a Savage 110 in 30-06. Both proved to be extremely accurate. And with the exception of a Rem. 870, all the rest of my shotguns are doubles, and single barrels bought used and restored.I do hve and use several other guns that are "right handed". But as you know, that is OK too.
Anyway, congratulations on a good buy, Enjoy !!

That scope ain't really a big one it is only a 4-16, got bigger ones on other guns 6-24 and up. My 10/22T has a BSA 8-32x50 and theGM barrel guns have Tasco 10-40 x 50's on them. You don't have to turn them to full power to use them, mainly like the big lens for light gathering ability.
