M1 Garands banned?

Post by Hakaman » Fri Jun 17, 2011 7:57 am

I just received an email that started out with this:
Dear fellow Patriot,
Nearly 1 million American rifles.
Banned by a stroke of Barack Obama's pen.
In a move unprecedented in American history, the Obama
Administration quietly banned the re-importation of nearly one
million American made M1 Garand and Carbine rifles.
Just wondering if it's true, or what others have heard.

More complex, yes. but for all intents and purposes correct.
"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.” – George Washington

They're just talking about bringing back (reimporting) old Garands from Korea and other country's we've sent them to over the years for their troops.
