Usama Bin Laden no more

Post by Georgezilla » Sun May 01, 2011 11:30 pm

Well, that's what my news feeds are just reporting. They say that US special forces have Bin Laden's dead body.

A great day for those who just want to live a peaceful life without senseless violence.

I saw it on the news too. He couldn't run forever. While I'm pleased they finally found him I'm concerned a little by the way that some folks are acting about it.

Glad to see it happen the way it did. Now there will be no problems of where to try him or detain him or how to get him from Pakistan to wherever, he just went straight to Hell as he deserved. Personally, I hope he got to see it coming.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

It was all over the news last night. Glad to see it come to a close, but now we have to wait to see what repercussion comes from it.

I agree the celebration does seem a bit excessive. However, for those who have lost loved ones in Iraq/Afghanistan (or seen them get severely injured), I am sure that it makes them feel even more proud of their loved ones, as it was not just one event that led to Bin Laden being dispatched.

BOM, I was wondering the same thing. Had he lived, there would have been a lot of global politics involved.

Rough justice in getting him. Better than bombing the complex because you ID the body. Also, burial at sea makes it very difficult to build the OBL shrine.

Don't think this will stop them, but at least there is one less!

I heard that along with OBL's corpse, the JSOC team brought out a lot of documents.. assume computer / laptop gear also. That may prove to be even more valuable in dismantling more of the jihadists.

I heard they did indeed seize computer equipment.

This link says it all http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/wanted_terrorists

Good job to all those serving in the military or who have served. No one single event led this end point, it was a culmination of events.

Now, how many people will want to see Bin Laden's long form birth certificate?

I personally would like to see the photos I've heard about, as gruesome as they might be. One report simply said he took a round to the head, another said the left eye. They should be front page on the New York Times, where all the extremists can get a copy.

He was "buried" at sea, I hope more precisely meaning "shark bait".

I'm glad he could see it coming, that we could get DNA proof, and collect all the info in the house. I understand there was some thought given to just incinerating the compound from the air.

the only problem with the quick burrial at sea is the conspiracy nuts will go crazy with it.... I am good with it, personally.

i like the up close and personal assault on the compound. kind of sends a message to other folks who want to sneak attack the USA. And a big :thumbs up: to SEAL team Six and the. :)usa
