Oldguy- I went into your posting and looked at why you couldn't post the photo. I saw that the box labeled "disable BB code was checked". I unchecked it and resubmitted, the photo appeared in your posting. I went into your profile and set "allow BB Code" to yes. The next time you attempt to post a photo you shouldn't get the default of "disable BB code".
Your picture's web address was fine. It doesn't matter if you have the Bulletin Board code (BB Code) as all caps "IMG" or lower case "img" the software will still read it as an image code. I only did the one picture. You can edit your original posting and should be able to see the checked box below the text in the options section and uncheck it and resubmit.
Now when I go back into your posting the code now says "BB Code - on", so the profile setting will automatically default to an unchecked box from now on.

Thanks Bullseye. Guess I'll have to buy another gun to post a picture.

I think you should go back and edit that 22 March posting to see how it'll work. The one where you say you hate computers. That way if you want to post a new photo you'll have it all figured out. Unless you're using the Greener/Bearandoldman excuse to pick up a new firearm just to post a photo of it.
Nice revolver by the way!

Oldguy, I'm glad Bullseye was able to get you up to speed. I don't even know what a BB code is, apparently it is an integral component in posting images though
I went ahead and removed all the images from my postings in this thread. Bullseye, I don't mind if you delete my posts as well.

Thanks George, I will leave your postings to maintain thread continuity.
This forum runs on a bulletin board format. That is what phpBB means on the bottom of the page. It is php code driven bulletin board software. BB Code is the way that the software picks up the HTML tags like [img], [url],
- , etc. Since Oldguy had his disabled the software overlooked his tags in the photo URL and did not display the image. You did not have your BB Code disabled and therefore were able to display the photograph in under your screen name. This was what was confusing Oldguy - It worked for you but not for him. It was just a minor profile setting difference. Even with the code disabled in his profile he had the option of unchecking the box and allowing the forum software to read the URL and display the picture. However, he did not recognize the difference and overlooked that checked box. I just went in to review the posting and was able to discern the problem and fix it. Now I'm just trying to explain it so he (or anyone else) won't be confused as to why his photograph wouldn't display.
Hope this helps.
Bullseye
