It's good that all Officers are OK, and the idiot isn't.
For a long time around here, if you are 'in person' at a police station, Sheriff's office, etc, you communicate via microphone, and closed circuit cameras.
Seem like, given the conditions in Detroit, the city fathers should be willing to spend just a few dollars on officer safety.

With all the nut cases in the world it's surprising there are not more of this. Glad every on is going to be OK.
Looks like it's time to move behind glass. Which may be cheaper than having a person scanning every one.

we used to require you to take all newly purchased handguns to the police station.bigfatdave wrote:So what's the legality of posessing a firearm in the police station up there in Michigan/Detroit?
An incident like this would never happen down here in Ohio ... carrying a dangerous gun into the police station is verboten, and that keeps everyone safe.

That was not that many years ago. I kind of think 2 years since you had to go to the police or sheriff and get the so called safety inspection.bgreenea3 wrote:we used to require you to take all newly purchased handguns to the police station.bigfatdave wrote:So what's the legality of posessing a firearm in the police station up there in Michigan/Detroit?

You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

not sure if it reduced crime..... and it was only a little hassle not too big.bigfatdave wrote:There's a recipe for success!bgreenea3 wrote:we used to require you to take all newly purchased handguns to the police station.
Did it work to reduce crime, or just make extra hassle/paperwork for the folks on both sides of the counter?
