“He starts threatening my family, my life. ‘Oh you’re dead. I’m gonna kill your family and your babies. You’re dead.’ So when he says that, 20 others guys come rushing around the corner. And so I fired four warning shots into the grass,” Grier said.

Grier was later arrested. John Lewis is Grier’s attorney.

“What he’s initially charged with – A D felony reckless endangerment — requires a depraved indifference to human life, creating a risk that someone’s going to die. Shooting into a lawn doesn’t create a risk of anybody dying,”

I guess his life is not important, according to this article ! But look what the bg's threatened him with. We live in a strange world today where bg's have more rights then gg's.

you gotta remember that New york and California are not the same as the rest of the country, the laws and rules there don't make sense. they have been shaped by people who don't actually live in a real world but instead live in a alterd reality where their view that every one will get along and "hugs and love will save me from the baddies" is the only one that counts. here in Michigan we call them delusional.

OK, I'm on the exact same page as you guys on this subject of personal/family defense. That said, there is no way I'm going to display(it's called "brandishing") my self defense weapon in an attempt to scare off anyone. For certain I'm not going to ever fire off a warning round (or four) as that is called what this poor guy is charged with. Can't we agree that with a minimal self defense course he would have hunkered down with his self defense weapon inside his home with his family flat on the floor ready to actually defend a home invasion. What he did was put responding officers in the sad position of arresting him which I'm sure they did not want to do. Regards

Very good points made ! I just hope I am "never" in a situation like that.

Sounds like a liberal/democrat philosophy.
It is a false sense of security to live like that.

I would have to agree, I don't think I would be shooting to intimidate like that. On the other hand they did threaten to kill him and his family.
