Bushnell Trophy ?
Hello, Im thinking about adding a Bushnell Trophy "red dot"[$85.00] to my Mark II target. The ldeal is to keep the weight down, what is a good mount + rings??? Thanks for your replies!

This is my first post and I say Hello. I frequently read these forms and find them very helpful. Thank you for have a very informative form.
I Have a Bushnell Trophy Red Dot and I used the Ruger Rail and the mounts that came with the red dot scope. It works very well. I have a Ruger Mark III Target SS.
I have Two suggestions:
1. Don't forget to shut the red dot off after every use or you will need batteries all the time. I forgot the first few times and had to replace the battery.
2. Another suggestion, is to use Loctite (blue) to the ends of the bolts so the red dot mount does not come loose from the mount on the gun. just a little drop at the ends of the bolts will do it. I had to do this the first time after a few outings (did not apply Loctite) when my Red Dot scope came Loose from the gun- It has not come loose since I applied the Loctite. Do not use the Loctite Red

I keep the spare battery in the lid of my hard case that I keep the gun in. If it in my gun bag I will probably have to empty the pockets to find it.
A BIG thanks to all for your replies, I now have the Trophy on the gun.
Im loving it too!
