I think I will just give up

Post by bearandoldman » Tue Dec 08, 2009 6:59 pm

Bought an Interarms 22ATD Chinese clone a while back and it had an old WeaverK 2.5 on it, really got o like them old scopes. A week or so ago I bought and older Weaver k4C3 on ebay for a reasonable price and have been trying to buy another since then. Every time I bid on one, someone ramps the price up to be damn near as much or more than a new one,.Did find a nice Bushnell 4x32 at the local pawn shop for 20 buck, I guess that is about it.

Every one posts them as vintage and they go for way more than they should, I'm vintage but no one will pay much for me.

Keep Plugging... It took me over a month to get a printer 5 yrs ago for the same reason you describe. Finally the ones bidding them up had what they wanted and I got mine for 1/2 what they were paying for theirs.

Greener and blue, I took your advice nd kept on plugging. The other day I set a bid on one and had my bid on top until yesterday and then got outbid. Raised my max bid to my limit and went into the lead, watched it count down and no more bids came in. An El Paso K4 for $29.06 plus shipping. The first one I bought I got for $29.50 including shipping, but still not a bad deal. think I have enough scopes have enough scopes now so that my little friends do not have to share. Need to get a couple more sets of rings at my local shop and then hope for a warm day or two so I can go out and use them,

If memory serves me right I now have one for each gun, or may have one extra. After I bought Moses I really got to like them old K Weavers, so I have bought more. I did pick up a nice Bushnell 4x32 and a Valor 4x32 for 20 bucks each at the pawn shop. Never heard of a Valor but it looks like it works. Moses got the first K4 I bought and his K2.5 went to Henry, Remona got the 4x32 Bushnell,TAZ will get the latest K4 when it gets here next week. Moses really needs a scope like the \K4 because his scope mounts so far forward on the cantilever mount, most other scopes I tried on make you crawl up the stock. Damn it's cold here today, 19F now with wind chill of 4F. Got some of those 158 SWC's with 3.5 grains of Green Dot to try in TAZ whenever the weather gets above freezing. TAZ sure does shoot well.

I'm glad that TAZ is putting a smile on your face, just wait until it gets it's K4! They are a sweet shooter, and I'm thinking not a bad all around solution:
1. Fun plinker, inexpensive with cast bullet loads
2. Respectable at target work 100 and under
3. Able to knock down the steel silhouettes out to 100 yds
4. Soft recoil for any shooter
5. Very handy, easy to handle with that 18" barrel, truck/trunk gun
6. Easy to mount an optic
7. Plenty of hunting ability up to and including deer
8. Very easy for new shooters to handle safely
9. Will step up to self defense if required, and not look threating to a jury 8)

I enjoy doing most of my shooting at 25 yards, I see no need for magnum loads and have plenty of .38 Special cases around and can use the same loads in my 50th Blackhawk. The recoil is very mild especially it my loads and is a definite fun shooter. Recoils and sound are different than .22LR, Just got out of the workroom and out some lower mounts on Moses, now he is really ready. Counted rifles and scopes and wen the other K4 gets here next week, we will have an equal number of each. Got to say something for Weaver's rings, took off a higher and put on a lower set and the scope was still pretty much on the defter of the boresighter.
