Oh please, oh please, oh please...
I just applied for a new job.
A contract security outfit that supplies armed guards for some DoD installations has an opening for a Weapons Handler near me. Basically, the weapons handler runs the armory, issuing and receiving weapons and ammo, dealing with accountability paperwork and doing field level maintenance on M9 Berettas, M16's and M500 shotguns.
In other words, getting paid for what I do for free around here...
If it get it, it will mean a significant raise, WAY better job security, MUCH less stress and a job doing something I love.
The commute will bite, but ya can't have everything.
Anyone that would care to hold a good thought for me, I'd appreciate it!

Actually, BAOM, I'm up to THREE Henrys. I added a Big Boy in .45LC to the 22lr and the 22WRM.
Got some inside scoop on the job from a retired Navy buddy that works there, and now I'm not so sure I want to make the leap.
HE just submitted his resignation and is taking a $5/hr cut because he thinks the contract is going to go south fairly soon. They started out with 8 people, they're down to two and one unfilled position.
He also said there's about two hours per day of actual work (if you dawdle) and you spend the rest of the day counting flowers on the wall. NOT my idea of ideal working conditions.
I haven't abandoned the idea yet, but I'm having trouble getting that old saying about a "bird in the hand" out of my head.
Sigh...

Henry the Large???

I hear ya on the think twice thing. I expect there'll be little else on my mind for the next few days.
