Mark II P4 Availability

Post by cmdridq » Mon Nov 16, 2009 4:30 am

Hi,
I was a regular at the old MkIII forum where some of you guys posted, but when it went south I lost track of everything until I "found" this forum, but have only been a lurker here for a long time. I got busy and ill for a while and ignored the shooting, etc., but recently have decided to get back into it.

So, I have wanted to buy a used Mark II P4 22/45, and scanned a couple of the used gun forums recently with no luck. Are they generally available, or not? I know there is nothing wrong with the P5, I just wanted to avoid the extra "technology" that Ruger put into it? Can you guys give me the skinny on this subject?

Thanks,
Tom

The older models are only available through second hand sales. All the shelf stock new Mark II pistols have been sold by now; it has been five years since the Mark III model pistols hit the market. The same reason why you want one is why most Ruger owners are hanging onto their Mark II 22/45s. You'll just have to keep looking, they do show up for sale but not that often.

Thanks, guys. I sorta figured that that was what's up. I'll just have to stay on top of it. If anybody runs across one, please feel free to notify me of the deal. I just want a regular short or bull barrel model with scope capability.
