Disassembly of Model 41 Magazine?

Will appreciate any tips for removing the base plate.

If yours has the solid base plate, you'll need a long tool like a pin punch. Take the punch and insert it near the bottom of the magazine follower track. Use the punch to pull up the magazine follower spring - this will free up the base plate. While holding the spring up, carefully slide the base plate forward and off the magazine body. The magazine has the same parts as the older version but for some reason S&W did not drill the spring plug hole all the way through the new style base plate.

Got it, thanks. I used a dental type pick to pull up/down depending upon orientation the plastic piece that engages the base plate.

Next step, any way to acquire the piece(s) that fill the partial circular cutout in the follower. I'm trying to refurbish a magazine for my 41 that another had discarded.
