Mark iii ammo

Hello harper_07 and all
I like to use Federal 325 AutoMatch sort in both my MKII & MKIII's.
I have done the magazine mod, and all my guns like the above. No failure to eject. Using the Federal 550 bulk from Walmart I may experience one or two failure to ejects every 200 - 250 rounds or so.
I have not tried Remington.
I have shot CCI standard velocity with no problem.
I did try Winchester Super X but it would not feed at all. It will work in one of my bolt rifles one of these days.
Anyway, yes, I clean the guns at around 350 to 400 rounds, and am very happy with these Rugers...Next up will be a MKIII Target, I think.
anyway, I have found that the more rounds put through these arms, the better they shoot.

I'm with you on the R headstamp. I don't buy that crap anymore. Other than that, my Marklll will cycle just about anything. It really likes the Federal 510s from Wally World but they are kind of hard to get here now. I luck up occasionally.

I was in Wally World the other day and bought 5 bulk boxes of Federal Auto Match 325. They had eight boxes on the shelf but I didn't want to buy it all. My bride suggested I get it all but then complimented me on not taking it all for myself. I really didn't need it but the shelves have been so bare lately. Eventually I will need more and if I don't get some when I find it, I don't think they'll have it when I need more ammo.

I like the Federal Automatch too. I was in Wally World this past week and they had 3 of the 325 bulk boxes. I was nice and only bought 1. I went back 2 days later and of course they were gone. I knew that I should have bought them all but was just trying to give someone else a chance.

winchester dynapoints...in my Mark II Mark III 10/22LR and 10/22Magnum......all love it and it is the most accurate cheapo ammo around.

I have been having really bad luck with Winchester Super X HV and SV. lots of FTF. Problem is it is all I have and can't find anythign else right now.

I used to go with Win T-22 for rimfire ammo, but then in the early 1990's they changed the manufacturing process and I started having lots of misfires. I have used Winchester Dynapoints with some good success but the only place that carries them is K-Mart.

CCI-SV is a good all around brand. I've had some of the best accuracy and reliability with the standard velocity and Green Tag brands. Both SV and Green Tag are made on the same ammo manufacturing machines, the Green Tag just meets higher quality standards according to the manufacturer.

Have ben using Fiocchi #22CRN or as the box label LSP with very good accuracy and reliability in my 10/22's and lately have been trying some Aquila Centurion which just keeps on wot=rking and has good accuracy also. Heard some one mention it is the same as Eley Sport which works good also. ave shot some good groups with all 3 and of course CCI SV also. The Centurion is about 20 bucks a brick in most shops around here.

iD but then I am an old guy. As far as I know you do not have to be a resident to buy ammo just meet the federal laws. Over 18 for long gun ammo and over 21 for handgun ammo.

My Mark III stainless bull does well with Wally World's bulk 550 round Federal HP, or any other Federal. Does good with thw Winchester "333" packs, too. The Federal brick ammo is cleaner. but the Winchester is a little more accurate. Function is about equal.

Mine has eaten about 900 rounds since new, and lately I got 2 FTE near the end of a 300 round session. Used to start at 100, and be so bad I quit by 150. So it's getting "broken in", and I'm sure the LCI being gone helps, too. And my previous FTF rate went to zero after removing the mag safety. I think it causes drag on the whole hammer/sear mechanism.

I definitely agree with other posts against Remington. I've lived through a brick of their "golden bullets", but no more. A good percentage of them wouldn't even chamber in my Single-Six, as the case mouths were out of round.

I have mentioned in another post that the "golden bullets" fired flawlessly, for me anyway? Maybe it's my Mark lll ?, but I would not hesitate to buy them if I saw them, as I have yet to have "one" failure in any respect. I don't know how shooters can very choosy now-a-days, I usually take what I can get.

I'm with you on this Bullseye. I was in Wally's the other day and looked at the shelf and saw no .22 ammo and no 9 mm either. On a lark, I asked the lady if she had any 9 mm (what I was really low on) and she said "sure, we keep it down here." There's 6 boxes left, we limit customers to 6 boxes. You want them all?" I said "No, I'll just take two and leave the rest for other folks." I had also bought .22 ammo online from Cabalo's so didn't ask for those--surely the 2 emails I'd received saying my order was delayed would mean a soon arrival. Just got an e-mail last night saying my order was going to be delayed ANOTHER month.

What the frick is going on? I don't need any lectures on it being Obama's fault (not that you would give any but I'm sure there's other's here that would) since he hasn't done anything to cause this shortage of .22 ammo. Certain people around the USA must have a fricken arsenal in their homes with the complete lack of .22 ammo ANYWHERE? I've been told that it's the army's fault for the lack of ammo as they've put in huge orders for ammo. I can see this affecting 9 mm ammo but not .22 ammo. Last I checked, the army doesn't use .22's in their M16's so that only leaves us shooters out there for the shortage.

Any news out there if the ammo companies are ramping up to meet the demand or are they looking to ramp up prices by restricting supply while all the doomsday hoarders keep waiting till the trucks unload at Wally's?

Recently I have heard a well placed rumor that the ammo producers are tooling up to meet the micro stamping regulation that CA has established and this is also cutting into product production. This explanation makes more sense than many of the others. Hysteria would be tapering off if the change of administration were the only causal factor. I'm sure the ammo producers haven't missed the fact that ammo prices are higher due to a fall in supply. Kind of like the petroleum refiners last year when their product was raking in record profits. They know how to play the game and they're playing it with us in the middle getting squeezed.

I bought a new Mk III a year or so ago. Immediately had fail to eject problems. Called Ruger and they said the Mk III doesn't like Remington golden which I was using. I had a bunch of WalMart Federal bulk and it went thru fine. Saved the Golden for my .22 revolver.
