Mark III

Post by cadillo » Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:28 pm

I've mentioned previously that I bought a new Mark III Stainless Competion Target with a 6 & 7/8" barrel. I've had it to the range once, last Saturday, and it functions fine, so it should not have to go back to Ruger. Wanting to improve the trigger and do away with the magazine disconnect, I've obtained the following parts:

Volquartsen Trigger
Volquartsen Sear
Stainless Mark II Hammer Bushing

Am I correct in assuming that these parts with work together in the Mark III grip frame using the OEM Mark III hammer? Not being familiar with the internals on the Ruger, I wanted to ask the question among people who know.

Understandably someone will suggest that I take it to someone more knowledgeable with regard to the Ruger, but I'll do it myself. I do my own trigger work on my rifles, and even occasionally swap out barrels on an M1, which I headspace by trying different bolts until I get one that reads OK on the headspace gauges, so I'm not intimidated by the Ruger, just respectful.

I'll be at the range Saturday and taking the wife to church on Sunday, so I'll try to get this done on Monday.

Any input greatly appreciated.

THX! :D

They all work with the Mark III. Go to my detailed stripping page for instructions on removing and replacing the parts and then just swap in the VQ ones. http://www.guntalk-online.com/detailstrip.htm
