I put my VQ sear and updated hammer pin in today.

Thanks to bullseye and all the GREAT info on this site, it went together just like I knew what I was doing

I can't believe how much better the trigger is!!!!! I was glad Ruger sent that updated hammer pin. My frame looked fine, but it is good prevented maintenance. I didn't change the the VQ extractor. I will do it on the next cleaning. I have copied a lot of the info on here and made myself a nice manual. Thanks again for all the help!!!!!

I could not tell any difference between the VQ and the stock Ruger sear. Is the VQ just polished more?

The VQ sear has several subtle modifications to it. Engagement angle change, overall length, and a micro polished face are most of the differences over the factory sear. I have to say you must have had a really unusual factory sear to not have any perceivable difference between these two sears. That is not the norm for newly installed VQ parts owners.

That is really unusual, the changes in my guns were very noticeable. Was this gun new or used, possibly it had already been changed.

Oh, I could tell the change when I shot it. I just could not tell that much difference by looking at the sears side by side. The VQ was polished. I didn't set and examine them long. I could not wait to get the new parts in. The trigger is easier to pull and has a smoother pull. I can't wait till my buddies come over to shoot. I will not tell them about the sear

No, just by looking the parts look pretty much the same, but you should now have a trigger pull of around 2 to 2-1/4 pounds instead of 5 pounds plus. All of my guns are in that range.

There is some subtle differences between the two sears but the untrained eye may not be able to spot them. Here's one side-by-side comparison of the two on the same pivot pin.

I have 3 trigger pull gauges one will give you an exact reading in pounds, the other two will tell you if it is good or not One is in my workbench and I carry the other two with me at all time, they are called index fingers. Yes, I can and do shoot with either or both hands. Due to some damage to the center of the retina in my right eye several years ago I have become right eye dominant after 60 plus year. I have been able to teach myself to shoot a rifle left handed and on the way I have also learned to shoot pistol with either or both hands ans shotgun from either side also. Amazing what you can learn when you have to.

I put in the VQ Sear and VQ Extractor today. I'll take it out to the range TMO.

It's a nice trigger pull but I'm waiting on VQ to send me a trigger.

So far, so good. I was worried that it would be difficult. Thanks for the great instructions Bullseye. I couldn't find the Extractor instructions and used this one.

Many times the "Little" things make a BIG difference especially when it comes to triggers. Enjoy your improved pistol...
