I know some guys who practice defensive shooting with a draw, load and fire routine. A couple of them do it fast enough that it is hard to notice they go from unloaded to loaded.
When I first switched from a Taurus Ultralight Revolve in .44 Special to the 1911, I used the Israeli draw for a while, until I realized it tool both hands. If my off hand was occupied or disabled I was unarmed. It takes a while to become comfortable carrying, cocked and locked, but that is the safest way to carry a loaded 1911.
Pretty much the reason I started carrying the 442. Easy to carry and ready without any additional work if I need it. Agree with you on the 1911. Certainly enough safeties for cocked and locked carry.

Welcome to the forum, Max it. I got hooked because these guys are pretty knowledgeable shooters and enjoy the sport.
Glad you are enjoying our forum Max It and a hearty welcome. Up here in the frosty climate it is too cold to shoot so we BS to some extent. Bullseye Toy and the Greener are old friends even though some of us have never done a face to face, but we sure would like to. The Greener and I have had a shooting session together and a visit to my favorite gun shop also. Some of us have been around since this forum started and were on another now defunct forum before that. I believe I have been around since the second day the forum existed and am member number 4 on the joining list.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Welcome to Guntalk-Onliine Max!

I see you found your way in. :D There's a good group of folks here and they're always willing to lend a hand when someone's in need. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself as you get to know them better. I know that I have and some, like the Oldman said, I've know for quite a few years. Have fun listening to the yarns.

You mat want to take some of the yarns on this site with a grain of salt or maybe a fairly large handful and beware they do not pull the wool over your eyes. I didn't get this old by being stupid or maybe just very lucky.
