Tac Sol Upper: Light hits/FTF

Post by johnnywitt » Sat Oct 11, 2008 11:45 pm

Finally figured out why I was getting light primer hits with my Tac Sol Upper. It was the OEM recoil spring. It was too long. The bolt stop pin would barely go in my pistol it was so long. I filed the end with the half moon clip down about a 64th" and now no light hits or FTF. The end of the spring was keeping the bolt from closing all the way.
I'm wondering if this is an endemic problem with the Pac Lite Uppers on the Ruger.
I tell ya, I've been down the road with this pistol and now its a relief to have it fixed and not giving intermittent FTF's.

Good work johnny, glad that you have it worked out. Between my friends and I we have six of the TS barrels on Buck Marks and they have been flawless. I realize that with the Rugers it is a complete upper. Regards

I really like my Tac Sol Pac Lite. I plan on getting a Buckmark and a 22/45 as well when finances permit. I'm trying to stock up on mags now before the evil one  assumes power.
