Testing at the range proved spectacular! I shot over 600 rounds without a single ejection problem. Ruger really fixed my gun. Oddly, Ruger noted the fix as "Ejector Repaired". I wonder if the perceived magazine positioning issue is really an ejector problem. Ruger appears to be saying that they raised the ejector rather than lowered the magazine.

Whatever, it is fixed. Old syaing in the saervice and repair business, it does not really matter the method of the repair but the end result that counts.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Well my gun is still not back from Ruger. It's been about 4 weeks now. I did hear from them on Friday. I had to sign off on the work that needs to be performed. It's getting a new barrel (and bolt). Now here's the kicker.....my gun was the 5 1/2" Slab side competition target. They no longer make a 5 1/2" barrel so they wanted to put the 6 7/8" slab side on it. I did not like the additional weight of the longer slab side.....so they said they could put a hunter "fluted" barrel on it. Guess I'm going to have a hybrid "competition hunter" :?

Just got my gun back from Ruger......after 6 weeks!

I know have a Competition Target lower with the 6 7/8ths fluted upper (Hunter barrel). They put the competition sights on it.....not the Hunter sights, which is good.

It's actually 1 ounce lighter than when it was a 5.5" slabside. If anything I think it might even be better balanced now.

Had my (first ever) outdoor bullseye shoot yesterday (local league). We just shoot one round of Slow, Timed & Rapid (30 shots) and then one round of centerfire. Just got my gun back from Ruger so I did NOT get a chance to use it for competition (still needs the dot mounted and I did not have the iron sights sighted in either). So I shot my mentors backup High Standard. Had two failures to eject during Timed Fire (one on each clip). Still manged to get the shots off, but I was rushed. Ended the round shooting a 262. I'm happy with that considering it was the first time I've ever shot outdoors and that I was using a borrowed gun. My 82 slowfire hurt me the most.

Afterwards I sighted in my Rugers sights at 50 yards. Got done and my mentor asked if it was sighted in now. I said "yeah....I think I'm in the ballpark anyway". So he asks if I can hit a silhouette chicken that is up at the 25 yard line. I line up and "plink" down it goes.....he says "you missed". I'm like "huh?" He says, "You hit the Turkey!........LOL I've never shot silhouette.....I thought it was the chicken. So I line up again, now bear in mind that the chicken is about 1/3rd the size of the Turkey.......looked like it was about 3" x 3". Nailed it! ........guess I was sighted in :)

Adam67, I have the Mk III Hunter with 6 7/8 fluted barrel and I must admit I love the way it looks and shoots. I'm sure you'll get it worked out and be happy.
