MKII and MKIII mags

Where do you guys get your spare mags? A buddy of mine is picking up a MKII and wants to get some additional magazines. We figured we'd combine our order since I want to have a few extra as well. Any good places online?

try Ruger in Prescott,AZ
just buy the "parts" and assemble them when they arrive.

just a couple years ago, the "parts" costs about 60% of the "new Mag",
but I guess a lot of 'sellers' complained about the Mfg under-cutting
the end-market... I got several "back then" ...

now, the price is "in line", so it's not the bargain, but not a problem,
PLUS: their shipping is low for the total-shipment,
AND: you can include some of the "in-expensive" little parts that
are not likely to wear-out... but if you luck/ability is anything like me,
you are more likely to LOSE-THEM during a cleaning/tweaking
session... so, I also have my little divider-box with some "Ruger stuff"
in it... just in case.
ALSO: you're talking to the same 'folks' that you'd speak to,
if/when you have a service/warranty concern...

Great suggestions guys!

I just checked out the Rimfire Sports page. They have a 22/45 mag listed. It doesn't say if it's for the MKIII or MKII. Does it matter? Will it fit my MKIII?

The 22/45 Mark II mags work in the 22/45 Mark III pistol just fine. I use them interchangeably all the time.

Do the MKIII 22/45 magazines have the trigger "spur" window? If they do would it be a problem on a factory MKII 22/45 magazine, or do they also have the window? Just wondering.

The 22/45 Mark III mags have the upper mag window in them and the 22/45 Mark II magazines do not. But the upper mag window does not affect trigger operation in any pistol that doesn't have a Mark III style trigger (the kind with the spur on the back). The trigger spur is scalloped on the back side of the hammer and does not touch or enter into the body of the magazine. It only touches the bump part of the widow. This is why a 22/45 Mark II magazine works in a Mark III 22/45 pistol. The trigger never actually touches the magazine. The only time that a trigger would touch a magazine is if it was a Mark III style mag, and it wasn't completely seated in the pistol. Then the spur could engage the tab and help seat the magazine the rest of the way and lock it in place.
