Went to the indoor range last night to try out the new Remington 1911 R1 pistol.
I shot several groups at 7 yards to check the sights and function. Gun worked every pull of the trigger.
Shot some standing.
S&B FMJ 230 gr, worked fine. 5 rounds covered by a half dollar at 7 yards.
WW 230gr JHP, worked fine. 5 rounds under a silver dollar.
Federal Gold Match 185 gr SWC half dollar size.
All functioned as expected.
Put a couple targets up at 50 ft, shot the following targets, normal slow fire one-handed.
The one on the top was the iron sighted Remmie using Federal Gold medal 185 gr match.. holding center point on the bull.
for comparisons, the bottom target was my scope mounted Gold Cup using my 185 gr SWC cast with 3.4 gr of CLAYDOT shotgun powder.
I was pleasantly shocked by both....Yes, I know I need to adjust the windage on the gold cup....
but, bench testing a trigger, and actually shooting it... I do need to get the longer trigger......
Anyway, I paid $547 +tax for it.
