need advice on Tikka

well somedays go a little better than others...
I happened by one of my PawnShop haunts and stopped in
to see if they had any Marlin-60s or 10/22 that I needed...
And they had an interesting/nice looking critter in the rack...
a fairly new Tikka T3 Varmit in .308 (with an OK Bushnell x40 scope).
It is on an over-nite hold for me to make up my mind...

A. any "experience" with Tikka ?
I have aspirations to get a CZ-308, so this is a nice bump up (?)
B. any experience with Beretta (owner/importer) warranty svc ?
if there is some subtle troubles found later, will Beretta help out like Ruger?
C. It appears to be quite clean and the bolt-face / receiver show no powder/residue
just some "dust"... as if someone just needed to get some $$ back.
no nicks, scratches.. crown looks fine, bore is clean, bolt works well...
I'm thinking to try to get out the door for $M/2

any ideas, suggestions, things-to-check, experiences... Thanks.
I'm basically familiar with the rifle, I just have no experience with them.
I already had the links(below) and was out at Cabellys a few weeks ago
and held a couple of them along with CZs 550 (~30-caliber bore)...
it wasn't easy to keep the
off my face while I was looking at it...

EDIT 31Aug: well... turns out the scope is a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40
so... it followed me home... When I stripped it for clean/inspect/lube...
it became a little bit obvious... it had NEVER BEEN FIRED...



now I can go "huntin' for some wabbits..."

im really considering a bolt .223 and the tikka super varmint , and varmint have caught my fancy.

Overall Tika makes a very solid product, likely better than most. Two negatives is the mag doesn't have metal lips, and the trigger housing is a plastic type of material. Super trigger, slick as Owl snit action and likely more accurate than you can be.

I own a Tikka T3 Tactical with a 24" barrel, threaded for a suppressor in .308 Win/7.62X51mm. I currently have a Sako TRG-22 muzzle break attached to the front end. This rifle is extremely accurate and reliable. It digests any ammo I run through it-including cheap Wolf stuff with no problems. The Teflon coated action is so smooth I sometimes find myself working it too hard when practicing fast reloads.

Some friends and I were at our local range on Sat practicing with our favorite toys, including a Bushmaster .50 BMG. Any time a bunch of ex-GIs get together there's always going to be a little friendly competition. The Tikka was on stage and we started shooting at 300yds. Once the four of us had cored out the bullseye on our close target we decided to try the 24" dia steel plate @ 500m (approx 560yds). The first 3 shooters hit bull. I'm glad to say I was one of them since I owned to rifle. We were shooting 150gr FMJ TulAmmo from our local Wally World (I only buy cheap ammo and even cheaper beer for my friends!). The guys were impressed since this was their first experience with a Tikka. Lots of praise for the trigger (factory set at 2.5lbs) as well as the lack of recoil ( better be smooth when you spend $200 for a muzzle break).

Unfortunately Berreta USA has decided to only import the 20" barrelled model to the U.S. The medium weight 24" barrel is reinforced about 6" form the muzzle for suppressor weight and improved barrel harmonics. The result is a sub MOA weapon thats a joy to shoot and is probably more accurate than I'll ever be,

For a very detailed review of this rifle go to Sniper Central.com and look it up in the equipment reviews. They test these weapons without any advertiser influence. If it's junk-they'll tell you. The Tikka Varmint rifle is very close to the Tactical line so you can get an idea if it's the rifle for you.
