Sunday I shot in my first Bullseye competation at my local club. I have been shooting for only a month, but I thought what the heck I might as well try it out and see if it was something I might enjoy. The good news is that I had a great time, meet some nice people and learned allot. I shot the 22 portion for an official score and shot the other two rounds for practice and experience.
The first round I was very nervous the red dot was really dancing! My score reflected it. I had shot at 50 yards only once before, and it showed. You just have to be off a little at 50 yards to be way off at 50 yards. I not only had to learn the various procedures but how to score. There is allot to learn and that is what makes it so challenging and fun. Yes it is fun to learn new things at 57. My scores did get better with each round and by the end I felt good about myself. I know what I need to work on and can’t wait to get to the range and start to work on them.

Good job Woody,
Keep asking questions and trying possible solutions. Keep what works and file away those that don't for later usage. Solutions that don't work for you at the present moment may work a year or so later when you have a bit more experience under the belt.

You get credit for trying. I guess if I were to give an opinion, I would say make sure you have fun and don't put any pressure on yourself. Good job, Haka
Thanks guys for the encouragement. I am really enjoying the shooting. I was back out the range today. Now that I know more of what to expect and know what I need to improve upon next month I will do much better score wise. I am starting to be able to call my shots. Everytime I go out I feel more comfortable and more confident with my shooting. I think allot of shooting is a mind game. Relax the mind and go with the flow.
Now there is a bunch on BS.
