I agree with that. Mine felt like a totally different weapon once I installed the accurizing kit.

Nice article. I did notice a few minor technical mistakes but overall very descriptive. The pictures are very helpful for the kit installation. I'm sure that anyone installing the VQ kit would find it very informative.

I recently purchased the Ruger in the above article-it's a Talo Edition.
I have accurized everything except the trigger, which I will do this weeend.
The Brownell article says the pre and the over travel should be adjusted .075" and you previously recomend 1/16" for both. I realize that the adjustments are practically the same. My question is how or what do you measure to get those figures?

The 1/16th" pretravel is just an estimate, some guns will be more and some less depending on the tolerances between the other firing system components. I just mentioned it so folks will be able to visualize that there must be a little pretravel in the Ruger's trigger to function properly. You really will not know what the exact measurement amount is until you do the final adjustments and have your disconnector resetting 100% of the time.

Would you recommend dremel polishing the disconnector and the bolt stop?

No I don't. That little moto tool is handy but it can cause more harm than good in most cases. The disconnector is a finely tuned component of the Ruger 22 Auto pistol. Any alterations to this component can do irreparable harm to it and possibly create an unsafe pistol. VQ now offers a replacement disconnector, previously only Ruger had them and replacement required your pistol's return to the factory. I haven't seen a need to polish the bolt stop in the past. Removing and replacing it usually hones it down to smooth operation.
