Appeals Court Strikes Down D.C. Ban

Post by Ripsaw » Sat Mar 10, 2007 11:49 am

Perhaps some have not heard about the decision by the Federals Appeals Court to strike the gun ban in Washington D.C. in place since 1976. It has been illegal to posess a handgun in Washinton D.C. even in ones own house.

Although this is great news, there is an appeal planned by the anti-self protection elites to try to prevent this. We haven't seen the last of this yet.
As we wll know, this law has helped to make Wash. D.C. one of the safest places in the world....NOT
:crazy eyes:

Typical that this came out on a Friday afternoon so none of the news services would report about it. I've been watching for a couple of days and neither the national or local news has mentioned a thing about it. Overturning a 30 year old ban is good news but not many will hear about it.

You are correct sir.

There is a reason that many things of this nature are done on a Friday. It may be coincidence in this case, but bad or embarressing news often is released on Fridays for this vary reason. Not all will hear or if they do on a Monday, they'll say its "old" news. Like you Bullseye, I haven't heard a peep from print or audio/video media.

The news media has its own agenda and this one's not on the radar. The word is getting out through the Internet to all the gun folks but the general public has no idea what has happened. Maybe it'll filter out but will get spun as no big deal. We'll see what if anything comes out of this one.

I'm sure that many of the talk radio programs will speak of this. Some will be all over it. The news will trickle out though. You're also correct in that the media will give it spin. We've already heard the tired old "Blood in the Streets"
rant from the mayor of D.C.

He's completely ignored the fact that crime has gone up because of the ban, just like Chicago, Philly, New York or anywhere else when criminals have little to fear from disarmed citizens.

NBC covered it. CBS, ABC, and CNN, did not. Can't comment about FOX.

I would have missed it though. When I watch, it's the local news. Brian Williams covered it on the national news.
