Gun crime down as gun ownership increases.

So, if I buy more guns, does it mean my chances of having problems with criminals decrease?

The Brady Bunch is showing its ignorance. They claim a shrinking number of gun owners, who are buying more guns than before? How many people do you know who would choose to give up guns once they've owned one? I will agree that people are likely owning more guns apiece!
The Brady's claim the tight gun law states are having more crime because of lax states next door, yet they cite the background checks as being effective. Which is it? A background check should not let you buy a gun in one state if you live in another. I guess the tight states have all their crimes committed by out-of-state bad guys.
So the Bradys are admitting that gun laws and even background checks are not stopping bad guys from getting guns, but they'll never admit it.

The only connection not being made is that the overall national crime rate has dropped significantly as more and more states become right to carry and offer reciprocity to other states as well. Criminals know that there odds of becoming a statistic go up drastically when there's a good chance they might encounter a prepared victim.
