New Chicago law

I just knew Chicago would rush some idiotic new legislation, voting 45-0 no less. Goes in effect July 11, I think.

No gun dealers in Chicago limits (are there any now?). You can't leave your house with a handgun; not even your porch, yard, or garage.

I can't believe these people. I doubt it would stand up to a good court challenge.

I have a feeling that a large number of honest, lawabiding citizens have been ignoring the ban for a long time.

Well, if you are successfully charged with a violation and convicted of this BS statute you then become a felon. Most charged will not have the where with all to take a case to higher courts. Since we all know that real felons by definition don't care how many laws exist this action will only serve to prevent honest citizens self defense.

The arrogance of these politicians amaze me and what I can not understand is why the citizens of Chicago and D.C. do not vote these people out of power.

You assume there was an honest election in Chicago.

I couldn't explain the DC voters.

Was there ever an honest election in Chicago???? Al Capone may have been a better elected official.

A vote of 45 to zip in favor. Must be nothing left but unarmed sheep and armed hardened criminals & gangbangers. Very sad indeed.

A few years back there was a federal law passed alowing police officers to carry anywhere in the US, I heard not to long ago that Chicago stance on it is they will arrest you and prosecute you if you are a out of town/state off duty cop Packing in the city regardless of the federal law...another reason I do not go there unless I have to, I am much happier having lake Michigan between me and chicago

And here on the other side of the state from you and North it is even better. Used to go to Chitown on business years ago, not one of the highlights of my career.
