Being a larger person, I need a larger vehicle. Rented a Toyota Corolla once to take a trip in a new car, should have gone in for a fitting first. No cruise and not enough leg room in the drivers seat, sure killed the legs on a 500 mile trip. Was really glad to get out and still be able to walk.

Drove an Accord for a couple of weeks. Me and the car were not a good fit.

Most of the vehicles I've had for the last 40 years have been Big 3. I've liked the Japanese and German (couple of Hitler's revenges), but I've been able to get 10-12 years out of the American cars without a great deal of problem.

If you want to see a total misuse of a car, take a look at the Police Pursuit Prius now in service in Parchment, MI. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7875851@N05/3015967793/ I don't think the police department is exactly thrilled by it.

Rob, you and I need vehicles that suit or personality and our person also. That police car should be great for catching overtime parking violators and slow moving bicycles, must really be cramped with all the electronics a police vehicle carries these days. Local Township police out by my gun club has bigger car and one of the smaller Jeep wagons, my Sergeant/friend really does no like using it when his regular vehicle is out for service. I used to drive an S-10 Blazer and that was adequate but a few years ago my oldest son game me his 1995 Mitsubishi Montero, you have seen it and it is much more pleasurable to drive than the old Blazer was.
