And all those things and better yet a faithful dog who is always at your side or under your feet or licking your face. Sometimes it is hard to get anything done on my guns or woodworking projects as no matter where you go in my small shop you must step over the dog.

Sometimes you have to think twice about the 2 legged friends, but the 4 leggers are you pal no matter what happens.

Cute little ankle biter there, he takes up less bed space than the Bear and must be a lot easier to sleep with. Lately the Bear has to spend part of the night stretched out next to me.

Indeed, the very best to us all for 2009.

As for best of friends, my Adrian is also a rather small package but he comes with a heart the size of Grand Canyon, even though this big heart's been unfaithful as of late. See, a few months back this little male kitten showed up at my property, all skin and bones, covered in flees and ticks. Wife and I felt horrible about the condition of this little animal who obviously survived on lizards and such. A couple of baths later Niko (means victorious in Greek, he proved he was a survivor so I figured he deserved the name) was happy to have found a home and become our barn cat. Three months later, under the watchful eye of Adrian, this pitiful little kitten has grown up to be a fine looking animal, full of love and devotion for all three of us. And watch out rodents, lizards, snakes and such, there's a new sheriff in town and he's got the sharpest claws and teeth which he knows how to properly utilize with out most efficiency. But when it comes to his relationship with Adrian he's a whole different creature.



Who says cats and dogs can't get along, we humans could learn a lesson or two from these guys. And even though I do feel a bit betrayed it's all for a good cause.

He has to be Bullseye, survives on his own all week at the property, while we play city folk so as to earn a living. But Friday evening comes around and he's waiting in front of the barn rearing to see us again, and be loved on all weekend. That's why he's so friendly I believe, he's plain lonely. But as he matures I'll be looking for the required looker of a lady to keep him company, so to speak It's either that or loose his sinkers and I don't believe I'll allow that.

The Parker Hale 7mm Rem Mag did its job once more, 75 yard shot and the little 4 pointer didn't know what hit him. Yam-yam, this year's venison promises to be tasty.
