Actually the ammo was just an excuse to go there, I am really hoarding socks and underwear. You should see the stash I have, hooooooweeeee.
You guys need to be more observant, I said as long as I was already there, I got the socks and underwear first. I never use a shopping cart there, and I can pay for the ammo and the other stuff at the sporting goods counter that I do not have to stand in the check out line. No way am I going to carry that heavy stuff around looking for the undies. And Yes, lever guns and auto loaders sure do eat up the cheap ammo. And Petey the Plastic Prairie Dog and his Brother Paul sure catch a lot of it. Petey is about due to retire, his mid section is getting pretty badly shot up, more holes there than polymer now. Have his cousin Pat on order now for his replacement. I am really and old sporting clays shooter and just love to see something happen when the target gets hit. Sure used to love to watch them clay birds turn to dust.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Saltines make great cheap reactive targets, and you have a snack right there on the table.
If you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics need work.

But they don't last for two years or better like Petey has.

OK, here are the guys responsible for all of the .22LR ammo getting used up in this area. Petey is the older guy, I think you will recognize him as he is getting pretty tired.

Hoarders at al

Post by ibfestus » Mon May 04, 2009 12:27 pm

If I had told you there would be severe restrictions imposed on the sale of ammunition and reloading supplies you would immediately blame the liberal left and the Democrats. WRONG! It was the gun owners themselves!

The cowards and hoarders that are so afraid of what might be, have made it so to the delight the Liberals and Democrats who didn't have to lift a finger to ruin our sport. I am sick and up to my ears with the stupidity shown on this by my now ex friends.

They say well Jim, YOU should have stocked up. I say that is pure bulloney. How can you stock up on ammo for a caliber you have never owned? I just bought a new rifle in a caliber I have never owned until recently. I guess I should have foretold the future. I recently tried to buy a pound of powder... a powder I have never tried before. Not available! Why? Because a bunch of jerks have it all mouldering away in their basements along with their Clinton era primers.

Wait until we get a real flu pandemic. Then you will get to watch your children die because a bunch of fools "stocked up" on flu vaccine. They have hundreds of doses they will never be able to use because they are "smart" and thought ahead. Same principle.

Petey looks like one tough hombre, I'd hate to meet up with him when he is mad. He isn't like the black dots I hunt that jump out of the way just before the bullet gets there, he stands there and takes your best shots. Get some orange duct tape and he will be good for another 10k rounds.

I went out this afternoon and got rid of a few hundred round of that Fed stuff. I threw it into a big pile of dirt.

We do seem to be subject to panic. The gun/ammo panic seems to have a life of its own. I figured that it would peter out a couple months ago. The only affect it has had on my ammo buys has been about 1k rounds of .22 more than my normal buys and a couple thousand primers more than I might buy otherwise. Of course, the guy had primers at a pretty good price, so it might not be above normal.

The flu scare is nothing more than a media hype. Really got people going for a summer flu.

I do stock up during hurricane season for things I need when the wind blows and the power goes out. Other than that, "What, me Worry?"

Actually, I may panic. I had two very long airplane rides last week. I started hacking and coughing last night. Think I'll have a flu panic for the rest of the week and stay home.

I just got over a mild case of the flu. I don't know if it was swine flu but it was a flu. No worse than any others as far as I could tell. Hit me hard at first but tapered off quickly.

I'm glad that you are better Bullseye, that flu crap is dangerous. Perhaps if you did have a brush with the current strain you will have some protection if it rolls in with a vengeance this fall. Regards
