Right you are my friend, and you can feel the hairs in your nostril frost up. Years ago, I had a fairly large mustache and boy did that grow icicles from your breath, had to deice it every so often.
I believe that if the the groundhog does see his shadow there is no Summer one week is Spring and the other is Fall.
I wear a pretty good-sized cookieduster m'self, and I can certainly relate to the snotsickles hangin' off the facial hair.
Earlier this winter, I managed to break the pull rope on my blowsnower. I was fixing it in my unheated garage. Due to my tired old eyes, putting the recoil unit back on involved bending WAAAAAY over so I could see to put the bottom screw in. What with cold fingers and foggy spectacles, it took a while.
Unbeknownst to me, while I was bent over trying to get that potlicker back in, my 'stache had frozen to the handlebar of the blower. When I stood up, tears shot out of both ears...

I understand that some "good sippin" whiskey works well as a deicer for those frosty days.
R,
Bullseye
Jack Daniels Black or Jim Beam Black both seem to get the job done. Just finished dinner and have with a tall water nearby. I love it right as it comes from the bottle, but past experience tell me that way a may sip more than required. This way is a good deicer and a mellow sleeping potion.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Huffing and puffing as best I can. Just to make you feel better, I was on a conference call with Florida Regulators today about our Miami Project. The one in Tallahassee asked me if I was glad to be in Miami where it was warm. All a matter of perspective, I suppose.
Too bad I was in Richmond, but I was a lot warmer than the consultants in Kalamazoo.

Greener. I really appreciate your help and any one else that joined in. I swear I could feel a warm breeze blowing and could heart gees honking as they were flying North, even thought I heard crickets chirping, Of course maybe I just had a little too much Jack Daniels.
Well this morning temps vary from "0" at our local nearby airport to +9F from my back porch sending unit. Weather at airport said it got to 4F less than nothing during the early morning. While Bear and I were bored from Cabin fever we teamed up with the Pillsbury Doughboy to bake this

Apple with raisins and spices and a tall cold glass of milk, sure tasted good last night after supper.
Well the next post will be 1K, hope i have some profound statement to make at that time.

What the oldman forgot to mention is summer's two weeks only if the groundhog doesn't see his shadow. If he does, then it's only one week, because that first week is spring!
R,
Bullseye
Well today is the day that the Groundhog comes out of his hole to predict Summer. Damn fool, saw his shadow and now we get more winter weather. Summer will now officially be the last Week in July. Of course Spring and Fall will also have to fit into that week, Sun and Mon will be Spring, Tue, Wed and Thur will Be Summer and Fri and Sat of course would be fall. Too bad I wasn't there with my 10/22 with the big scope, all my 10/22's have big scope because I am an old man, like it says. Had I been there, I would have blown his butt away and he never would have seen a thing. Not sure if that counts or not? Right now, clear, sunny and 19F plus.

Summer in Michigan is great, especially if it comes on a weekend.

Every day is the weekend for us old retired guys.
Never did get to the range yesterday, had a great visit with my friend from downstate that I have not seen in a couple of years. We used to shoot a lot of sporting clays with him and his wife, she kicked both our butts on more than one occasion before I had my eye problems and he bought a Harley.. He and his wife have traveled over a 100K miles on the Harley since they got into it, taking trips every weekend and longer ones in the summer.they were just great people to shoot with. Bear and I walked through the woods in the snow and the temp was in the mid 40's and sunny, and we had a great time. Even took his shot gun and broke a few targets some shooting right handed and some left handed, I may get back into the shotguns again. By the time we sat around and visited, I lost interest for shooting the pistol until another day. Looks like the end of next week may not be too bad but the next dew days will be very cold again.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Well, I won't tell you boys that it was 75 sunny degrees with 5 to 10 mph wind at my range yesterday

Seems like everyone is stocking up, and I don't blame them. I'm actually a wally world fan now that I've retired to this small community. When I lived in the metroplex I never set foot in one. My counter folks are very good and will order anything they can get from the distribution center they have to use, but I buy CCI SV by the case and usually wait for midway to have a sale. Regards
