I've seen that house. It's the governor's palace in Williamsburg, Virginia. Back then a gregarious show of arms was considered the ultimate height of wealth and power.

SWMBO was looking for remodeling ideas.
I believe they said that the house had 542 firearms on display. It was the way they were stored and displayed way back then.

Well you got a few more to go to catch up with them. Rob' back in the 50's and 60's most everyone kept their guns displayed like that, guns were not bad the. They got that way in the 80's I beleve.

If I remember correctly, there's also a display on the ceiling of firearms arranged in a pattern like a huge ornate sunflower.

My how the times they are changing. I remember when a large ornate glass front storage cabinet could be found prominently displayed in homes including my own. Then we went to a nice safe, but still on display. Now if we are smart the safe is hidden, and no one knows that we even own firearms. Regards

My computer/library/den/hang out room is a "bonus" room with 4.5' knee walls with storage space behind them. My firearms are stored there. My favorite eldest child made a comment about the height of paranoia being storing guns behind the wall, then realized that's where I store mine.

Rob anf Jim, times sure do change don't they? Used to have my guns hanging on a paneled wall in my family room also, now they are stored in an area that does not even look to be any thing other than a paneled wall. If you walk in this house, unless you see a gun on the workbench you would not know there are any here, Nice looking tool box, my days in engineering and so forth, every tollmaker had one of those wodden boxes of one size or another, very high class oak.

Nice looking rolling wooden chest. I'll bet those aren't cheap to buy. Almost looks like Amish craftsmanship. I'll bet you can get a similar product by traveling to the eastern side of Ohio to Amish country. Those folks can hand craft some excellent wood products using all non-powered hand tools.

Nice looking chest. The hard maple top's are not cheap either. But they make nice counter tops for about any thing. Not sure it would make at good reloading station. Any thing will wheels have a tendency to move around.

Back in the 50's I worked as a tool designer a The Lufkin Rule Company, they made tapes nd rules and precision tools and also had a department that manufactured those beautiful oak machinist's tool boxes.
