.22s for Survival?

Most here know that there is at best three days of food in the grocery stores, and that the third day would be an experience. I live in the country now, but when I lived in the city I had plans to get to my place in the country. We keep food stuffs on a rotation that would last for 30 days, meds for 90 days. We know which neighbors would be good in a pinch, and which ones would be a problem. When I travel away from home I have a Maxpedition bag with lots of goodies that goes in the truck. The bag is easy to carry, and doesn't attract attention or threaten. The firearm I prefer is a Buck Mark pistol that is easy to conceal. A few spare parts, 200 rounds of HP ammo, 50 rds of Aguila 60gr Super Sniper. The BM is a sure game getter out to 25yds, and I practice a lot so that I'm very proficient with this setup. If I'm traveling I want to be able to avoid major population centers in times of unrest, and attempt to get home. Regards

I just stumbled into this old thread and found it an interesting read.
I thought I'd add one more small game getter to the .22 rimfire. I use a Benjamin/Sheridan 5mm air rifle with a 2X pistol scope to control pests on our small country acreage. Squirrels and small rabbits drop instantly. Some of the single cock/pump air rifles might even be better. And pellets are relatively cheap. Accuracy is excellent. I don't like CO2. The one I owned needed the CO2 to be used up once punctured or it leaked out and was gone when it was needed. Air and muscle keeps the pump-up going.
