I've been wanting a lever-action carbine in a handgun caliber for many years and the recent purchase (from a friend) of a Marlin 39M (mountie) has just fueled the fire. I've got three .38 caliber revolvers and plan to get into reloading that and .357 soon so the .357/.38 rifle just feels like the right gun to buy.
Honestly, I can't afford a museum piece and would hate to shoot it anyway. Also, I don't know a thing about the Winchester 92s (or the various repro/replicas) and maybe shouldn't rule them out.
Thanks, in advance
