mark III target pistol
Is there a way to change the weight of the trigger down to 2lb?

The best way for owners to change their own pistols trigger weight is to install a VQ target sear and VQ target adjustable trigger. These are user friendly drop-in parts that mostly take the time to do a detailed stripping to install. What you get is a 2 pound trigger with less travel for around $50.

While your at it, you might as well install the Clark MKII Bushing for another $25. This will remove most if not all of the creep from the trigger, and do away with the mag disconnect make it function like a MKII.
If you do not want to buy the trigger you can add pre-travel to your factory trigger. There is a stick covering how to do it. All it takes is a drill press, vice, drill bit, 4-40 tap (or 6-32), and a 3/16" set screw.
