Is it possible to chamber a Savage long action for the 30-378 Weatherby round? I have heard yes from some people and no from others.
What say ye??
Thanks everyone.

The long action can handle the 30-338 Weatherby, but what is your 110 currently chambered for? Perhaps rebarreling with a Shilen barrel with a pre-cut 30-378 chamber may be a better way to go. What are your intentions for this rifle. The magazine has a limit of 3.60" OAL and that could mean you'll have a single loader on your hands.
Hope this helps.

Bullseye,
Again, thank you for coming to the rescue. The rifle I want to rechamber I don't even own yet. What I was planning on using was a Weather Warrior series originally chambered in 375 H&H. While I am not intending this to be a magazine fed rifle, I wanted a switch barrel SS rifle and also wanted a 375H&H caliber switch for that rifle, so it sort of just fell into place.
I have heard about Savage offering rifles in a LARGER size shank (IIRC it was in the RUM and such chamberings.) I would call Savage to see if the 375 H&H is in that larger shank size.
Do you have any info on what calibers are offered in the larger shank size?
Thanks
Roy
