My choice would be the Savage 24V for hunting. .30-30/20 ga. Deer, quail, grouse in Western Oregon all open at same time and sharing same habitat. Versatile. Simple.
Savage 24V, .30-30/20 ga. with Ultradot. S&W M36

Depends. One gun, period?
That's easy. 12 gauge shotgun. With slugs/buckshot it's a small game gun. Obviously, a bird gun, and pretty darn good as a Home Defense gun.
Kinda hard ta conceal tho...
An empty weapon is just a very expensive hammer.

I believe that would be a Savage 24, similar to mine above. Ot comes in many calibers......but I'm not sure it is made any longer.

If I could have only one gun, it'd be a 12 gauge shotgun - for the reasons stated earlier.
About the combo .22/.410-.45 Colt......I don't know of any gun that is set up that way.
The Savage model 24 as pictured is the classic .22/.410. Springfield Armory sold a nice little survival O/U that was a .22/.410...called the M6.
As to a .410/.45Colt barrel....Cobray used to make a series of small arms that would shoot .45Colt and .410 shotshells. One or two of these were "long arms" but I do not know of a .22 combo. Bond Arms, American Derringer, and Taurus make .45 Colt/.410 pistols - no combos.
Remember that a barrel chambered for .410s (.410" diameter) will NOT safely fire .45 Colt ammo (.452" diameter). Any combos that you see that fire both are chambered for the larger diameter.

You are correct. It may be the M6 he is referring to.

I was not aware that SA offered the M6 with a .45/,410 barrel. I have one in .22/410 and a friend has one in .22 Hornet/.410.
I wonder if that Wikipedia info is correct. Could be, I guess, though I was following SA for years in their on again/off again production of the M6; I never saw a listing for the .45/.410 barrel. Wouldn't be too practical - the accuracy of a .45 slug would be pretty poor out of a smoothbore unless I miss my guess (but I'd sure like to give one a try).
M6 was made by CZ for SA.
