My springs are in
So gentlemen, is there a site out there that would show me how to take down my Ruger Vaquero, or single six, so as I can replace the stock trigger spring with a Wolff?
Thanks,

The spring job has been completed. Pretty forward really, took me 3/4 of an hour to complete including cleaning the pistol. The results are satisfactory, the trigger pull in 2lbs 5oz but I'll have to stone the contact surfaces. There's ever so little a creep which I must eliminate to be 100% happy.
Forgot to post the target. This was shot benchresting at 25yards, using Federal value pack ammo. As I've said before this Ruger can shoot.

The inards of this pistol are quite interesting. I took it apart yesterday evening, with the help of an expert friend, and polished most moving parts, including the trigger and hammer contact surfaces/sear. The trigger pull is much better than before but not quite there yet. I'll keep at it until it's 100%.

gcp: Sir; you made a pretty
good target there.
How much more do you intend to do with your Trigger work.
Polishing and cleaning has helped me out with some minor filing on the sear.
If you would keep posting cause I want to follow along.
Bulleye has got some good places for info.
Thanks; to you Bulleye

neophyte, after oiling my 22 the trigger is close to perfect. I know the trigger travel is there but it's so slight that I can't hardly feel it any more. Maybe it's now in my head
So, I'll shoot it as is for a while and take it down again only if/when I have nothing better to do, say in a month or so.

You're not alone in this respect brother!Bullseye, my problem is I like all guns of quality. Call it a fixation, call it a passion but this hobby helps me unwind after a hard day's work so, as far as I'm concerned it's worth my expense, and the tunning effort I put into each and every one of them. To each his own I guess Wink

Gang, I recently purchased a couple of Hogue monogrips, one each for my Superblackhawk and Vaquero. Sure enough they are of typical Hogue quality but I hate their mounting schema, and the way they look. Way too big for the size of the gun(s), these grips ruin the classic style of both pistols if you ask me. If you are interested in them drop me an email and I'm sure we can work something out.

Done deal
It took a while to finish the polishing job but my 22 single six's trigger is now perfect. Absolutely no creep, and it shoots up a storm!
It's good to have competent friends that get the job done while you're on travel
