Beretta 92FS

I picked up a used 92FS last week. I really like it using it at the range. They do shoot nice. I was disappointed that the fixed sights shot about 3" left at 50 feet. Have decided to put an adjustible rear sight on it and if it shoots better, to use it for my Pin Shoot Pistol. It is such a big heavy pistol - it feels great in the hand.
I field stripped my MKIII for the second time last nite. One tip I think I've lerned is to check the barrel & frame pin orientation with the pin "as soon as you put the barrel on". Don't wait until you get the bolt in and the hammer in the forwad position. It goes together so much easier once you've established the three holes perfectly (correct word) in place. The MKIII defintely spoils you for adjustible sights. It's amazing how straight these pistlos shoot once adjusted.
Question: Does anyone know what size Allen Wrench uncrews the grips on a Beretta 92FS? Metric or American? It sure is small. I didn't feel like buying two sets.

John, 2mm fits my grip screws.
The Beretta 92's are a big, heavy pistol for a 9mm, aren't they? I picked up a 92FS Inox on closeout at a real good price - think they sold it by the pound. I intend to use it for my club's steel shoots, it doesn't have much recoil at all. My wife shouldn't have any problem with it either, if she can get her hand around that fat grip...

Thanks, Zed. 2mm works great. I love the 92. I've been modifying it a bit which is fun but I don't have much experience in gunsmithing. I put Beretta adjustible rear sights on it. I've got it it sighted in very well. Better than my old eyes.
I sent away for Brownell's Spring Kit. I put the lighter main spring in which does lighten the trigger a bit. (not a heck of alot) I may have messed up on the recoil spring. I put in the heavier one figuring that less energy would be required to cock the hammer???
I shot 50 rounds today. It shot fine. (In fact I've never has any misfeeds or stovepipes after about 300 rounds with this pistol - got it used.) This might be just me.....it seemed to have more recoil? Is that my imagination or should I have gone with the lighter recoil spring too?? Or left the factory one in and just changed out to the D Main Spring?
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
I'm probably newer to Berettas than you are, so I'm a little short on advise, ha ha. I bought the 92 to be used as a house gun and a gun with manageable recoil for my wife. The weight of the 92 with the 9mm round makes a very mild recoil, much less than the hefty thump she gets from my .45's and a lot less snappy than the lightweight pocket 9's.
I've now pushed about 300 rounds downrange with no issues whatsoever with this gun, seems to be dead reliable so far. Whatever I have shoved into it, it shoots. A few hundred more rounds & I'll be comfortably convinced of its reliability.
I'll have to pick up a spring kit to see if I can lighten the trigger just a touch, it is a bit heavy as it is. The only advise I have is when I start changing springs & such, I like to try them one at a time. My feeble old brain can handle only one variable equations, any more and irrational perceived observations tend to cloud the true outcome.
