What to carry and how

Post by Tbag » Tue Feb 27, 2007 5:58 pm

When it's hot and humid most of year, shorts and shirts mostly. Any ideas would be nice as to how you keep your pistol from printing. Looking for a new pistol and how it wear it.

My normal carry method is kind of long and a little too bit T-shirt not tucked in and an SA Micro Compact in a hip pocket holster. Pretty much my daily carry no matter whaqt the weather is.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Hot or cold, I always carry the same weapon. Kimber Pro Carry II .45 with Tru-Glo tritium night sights and trigger reworked to 3.5 lbs. It's the stainless one in the picture. (I know I'll get heat from Bearandoldman over the trigger pull but he's just cranky in his old age  )
Holster is a DeSantis Cozy Partner IWB. In the summer, with shorts, I usually wear an untucked polo shirt or a Hawaiian-type shirt. If the rig prints and someone says something about it, I'll just say I've got a really old-fashioned, big cell phone on my hip!

Nice looking guns Blindpig, my 2nd favorite carry is my SA V-10 it has a 3-1/2 inch barrel and stainless frame but weight 2.5 ppunds loaded and the Micro onl weighs 2 even. I like the shorter grip because you can hide long barel easier than a long grip.
My range gus have 2 pound triggers, my shotguns are the szame as yours at 3-1/2.
When you get older and stronger you will not notice the 4-1/5 to 5 pound pull. I was slow and weak too when I waqs younger. No one will mess with atn old man with a gun, a young guy will go hand to hand with you but an odl guy will just shoot you several time. :D :D
As with everyting else, results and opinions will vary.

I kind of ambushed you on this one, bearandoldman. Come next October, I will be 70 years old!

Well, Hallelujah!! I finally found somebody that's older than I am! That's not quite true, a bunch of guys that show up at our club range on Wednesdays and Fridays are in the same boat as we are, bearandoldman. In other words, their eyes are bad and the damn wind is always moving the target around! If you're listening Hitman Henry, this doesn't appy to you!

Thanks guys, I sure to catch you one day, but you all might have kids my age (46). Gotta like them Kimbers, I have 2 both CDP II 3" and 4". I need to figure out how to post those pictures. BP how do you like that holster you mentioned?

Yes, you are correct; I do have children your age. Not to mention 9 grandchildren (or as I call them, the grandbrats) and 2 great-grandchildren!
Back on message, I really like the DeSantis rig. It is an absolutely perfect fit for the Kimber and consequently, draws smooth as silk. Not too expensive either, at about $70 or so with the shipping. I sprung for the belt they have that goes with it and I am very pleased with that also.
On posting the pics, Bullseye will help you with that. Just PM him and he'll give you some guidance. I use Photobucket.com for mine but I think he has another method available.

You know BlindPig I really and I mean it, enjoy learning from more experienced people than I. I guess it's from learning all of the fun stuff from my dad, you know shoot targets, hunting or just going into the woods getting wet and cold.

Well, yeah, but don't those Depends work better than the old-fashioned cloth kind that you fastened with safety pins?
