Revolver vs red dot

Have been taking my vintage K-38 out to play lately. Currently have a red dot sight mounted on it but am seriously considering going back to irons. The red dot is great for slow fire... works acceptably well for timed fire but I just can't keep within the time limit for rapid fire unless I go to firing double action. I lose the dot every time I fire and just seems to take too long to reacquire it... especially if firing single action. Do any of you use a red dot on a revolver for bullseye? How do you compare it to iron sights when it comes to timed and rapid fire?

I have a "MatchDot" on my Marklll, and I really like it. It cost $200 and it works well. Just put the dot on the targer, and pull trigger. The hard part is keeping the red dot from moving.

The reflex type dot's are better for faster target acquisition, not having to look through a tube. You do not loose your target with barrel hop.

Oh, Man, I have to draw the line on anything but irons on the ol' wheelguns..

Just my aesthetic view..
