Good luck DR Haka, man it must be really hot here I was on the back porch a while ago and came in all covered with sweat, or was that rain, it was pretty cold come to think of it.
Both Hogue and Packmire(?) have wood/rubber grips that look pretty good. I like the plain ole Hogue rubber grips.
Dr Haka got the gun back together, cleaned, and working like a top.(I surprise myself sometimes). On the Taurus forum there is a field strip detail link, like the famous "bullseye" has made for this forum that really helped me out: http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/index ... pic=2388.0 The gun is really looking sweet right now, all cleaned up. A new set of grips, like greener's, would be the icing on the cake. Nice looking Taurus, Greener. Now the real test, can I shoot the black in the target? I'll answer that right now, "some of the time"/who counting anyway!

Dr Haka, the nice thing about a 1911 is, no matter what name is on the gun they are still a 1911.

I didn't like the grips on mine and replaced they with a Hogues ($20). Much better feel with those grips.
Hey Greener, (or anybody else)
take a look at the midway sight below and let me know if these would fit my PT1911, thanks.

I like them. Have two on Ruger MK's, one on my PT1911 and the version that fits my P90.

These look good. Lots of folks like them. http://www.pachmayr.com/american-legend-grips.php

You can buy the the Hogues for ~$20 at most gun shops. Give them a try. If you don't like them, find something else. I've been interested in better looking grips for my PT1911 and haven't gotten them because the Hogues are so comfortable. In fact, I replaced the wood grips on my MKIII Hunter and MKII GC with Hogues because of the way they felt on the PT1911. As Len said, you don't have to satisfy anyone but yourself.

You will like it, I took one from one of my 22'45's and mounted it in my Henry and it works great.

I like the option of red or green colors. I have tried both in my Ruger Mark lll Hunter (comes with a supply of em), but like you, I think the green is easier to see. My eyes are only a remnant of what they used to be. So much for the HiViz, prob get them next week. I also ordered the Hogue wrap around grips, with finger grooves, for both my Taurus and my Beretta M9 (from buds). I hope this helps my aim with the Beretta, 'cause I have a tendency of breaking my wrist downward. There's something about the ergonomics of the beretta that I'm having difficulty with. Other then that, the gun is a well made sweety.

The green stands out well especially against a black target.
