I'm lucky, cargo pants/camp shirt/light undershirt has been the standard BFD uniform for about a decade already ... adding IWB carry was pretty simple.

Step 1- insert gun in new custom IWB holster
Step 2- Insert loaded holster in pants and on belt
Step 3- Fiddle until you reach a modicum of comfort, and the holster isn't pushing your underthings out of alignment
Step 4- Go gun shopping, because it turns out you purchased a carry gun smaller than you needed to (anyone have a reliable 1911-style or XD they've gotten bored with?)

I still like my Khar for the summer time, and for the winter time as well. After a little while of packing it, I forget it's even there.
To each there own, whatever works for you.

Here's a question that has never been asked in a gun forum: "What carry gun do you pack?

Huh?
Meaning what gun do I generally leave the front door with? Or what gun I take on vacation?

Walther PPS-9 for either, assuming it is legal to pack there.

Whatever comes to mind, although I tend to go with a 442 mostly.

Now, when I take one of my 2-3 Michigan vacations I usually pack a .45, .357, SA revolver, 9mm, couple .22's and a few hundred rounds of ammo. Not hard at all as long as I carry with a V8. I know that's a little light for Michigan, but I can usually stock up on ammo when I get there.

Unfortunately, I travel south of 8 mile for work. That sounds pretty bad doesn't it. Wait, I have more, I can't carry due to work's "no handgun" policy. I hate going into detroit.

That is a problem, but you pay attention to laws and rules and try to be legal, all them other guys down there don't pay attention to that diddly crap rules and laws stuff.

I have been in some real "armpits" while working in detroit. I'm glad I don't have to work down there too much. When I do work there, I wear my bullet proof vest, pants, and underwear.

You really should look into some kind of a full coverage ballistic helmet also, and praying a lot will help also. Been many years since I have been therm my grandparents lived on E Grand Blvd near Moran if my memory can reach back to the 60's.

Guess I'd better start reloading. Just talked to my son and he was whining about not being able to find ammo for his "new" 422. Looks like I'll need to get the suspension on the Tahoe checked just to have enough to get by on.

H'man: My son was telling me that his XD compact carried very nicely.

The SA XD's and XDM's are pretty nice guns, but they are poly frames(conversation imported from another thread). I had a chance to get the xdm for a real good price a while back, but passed on it.
South of 8 mile just ain't what she used ot be.

that pretty much goes w/o saying, but, definitely worse. Especially with all the unemployment going on. One really has to watch his back these days.
